1.   INTRODUCTORY SPEECH                                                                 5% of Total Score 

In this appearance, each contestant will give an introduction of her and mention her platform and why she selected this platform as Miss Teen British Virgin Islands 2010. The time allocated for the speech is forty five (45) seconds or less.

•A.    Overall "First Impression"

•B.     Ability to articulate both a sincere, engaging personality and her opinions

•C.    Confidence and stage presence

•D.    Do people want to listen to her?

•E.     Potential spokesperson for Miss Teen British Virgin Islands 


2.   PROMOTIONAL SPEECH APPEARANCE                                                15% of Total Score

In this appearance, each contestant will give a promotional speech about the British Virgin Islands as a whole. Time allocated for the speech is three to five (3-5) minutes.

•A.    Overall "First Impression"

•B.     Naturalness and relevance that would be of interest to her peers

•C.    Strong communication competencies (speech, vocabulary, grammar)

•D.    Validated aspirations, opinions and responses

•E.     Personality, personal appearance, attractiveness and physical beauty

•F.     Knowledge of information

•G.    Qualities, abilities and sincere desired to be Miss Teen British Virgin Islands

 

3.   PERFORMING TALENT                                                                       30% of Total Score

Each contestant may only do ONE of the following: sing, dance, recite, or dramatize. She may be an instrumentalist, magician or gymnast. A young women's talent selection should distinguish the contestant's:

•A.    True talent and entertainment abilities

•B.    Interpretive abilities

•C.    Technical skill level (execution, technique, synchronization, and control)

•D.    Stage presence and on-state personality

•E.    Totality of all elements (including costumes, props, voice , and use of body choreography)

The performing talent is limited to four(4) minute or less.

      For exceeding the time limit, deduct 5 points.



4.   EVENING WEAR                                                                                  20% of Total Score

Each contestant will parade in Evening Wear. Youthful looking evening gown is to be worn either ankle length or floor length. Avoid low cuts in front or behind your gown and should not bare midriffs or slits. Points will be awarded for age appropriateness, elegance, style, fit, and confidence.

•C.    Appropriate, contemporary evening wear

•D.    Walk, posture, carriage and grace

•E.    Style and personality

•F.    Sense of confidence and stage presence

 

5.   QUESTION AND ANSWER                                                                       5% of Total Score

In this appearance, each contestant will be asked questions from her biography, platform and/or current events.

•A.    Overall "First Impression"

•B.     Ability to articulate both a sincere, engaging personality and her opinions

•C.    Confidence and stage presence

•D.    Ability to answer question in a time allotted and in contest

 

6.   PERSONAL INTERVIEW                                                                                25% of Total Score

In this segment, each contestant will meet with the judging panel for a private interview. The basic tool for conduction this interview is a resume of personal credits and getting to know the contestant's personality and the ability to fulfill the job of Miss Teen British Virgin Islands. Questions will be directed from contestant's biography, platform or any current events within the British Virgin Islands, Caribbean or Worldwide.
